AIDS Alive ® was formed by the family and friends of Robert M. Gillin, Jr., who died due to complications resulting from HIV/AIDS. His passing taught his family and friends the importance of raising HIV/AIDS awareness, and that HIV/AIDS affects everyone in some way.
The founders of AIDS Alive ® were inspired by Bob to continue his mission of offering emotional support for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. By organizing and coordinating multiple events, AIDS Alive ® aims to:
- Raise awareness, educate and promote prevention, particularly among those who feel they are not impacted by HIV/AIDS.
- Develop resources to support our organization and other organizations that address the psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects of this disease.
